Pyromorphite is a mineral species composed of lead chlorophosphate: Pb5(PO4)3Cl, sometimes occurring in sufficient abundance to be mined as an ore of lead. The phosphate radical (PO4) may be partially replaced by an arsenate radical (AsO4), thus forming a series with Mimetite. Aresenate replacement produces crystals more in the yellow to orange spectrum rather rthan the typical green crystals.
